Best Small Fictions is one of our favourite annual anthologies. Every year it features a huge range of tiny stories and hybrid fiction. This year it’s managed by Sonder Press, and – just as we always do – we’ve put forward a couple of our favourite small fictions for possible inclusion.
We’ve been lucky in the past to have several pieces reprinted in various BSF anthologies, including Lydia Armstrong’s “The November We Are Fifteen” and Claire Joanne Huxham’s “Correspondence“.
We’re hoping to add to that list in the future. Here are our 2019 nominations…
“A Lyrical Drawing Exam” by Claire Yspol
“Do Something Amazing Today” by Gareth Durasow
“Quiet Now Without the Bees” by Vivienne Burgess
The very best of luck to all our nominees! And if you fancy reading the stories for yourself, you can still pick up a copy of issue 48 and issue 49, in which they appear.
