The Forward Prizes for Poetry have been running since 1992, and seek to recognise the best poetry published in the UK and Ireland over the course of the previous year. They’re among the biggest poetry prizes in the country, with support from organisations like the BBC, The Royal Mail, and Arts Council England.
As usual, we’ve put forward three of our favourite poems from Neon Literary Magazine. Our nominees this year are:
“You Met God in a Gas Station at 3AM and He Hated You” by Beatrice Hughes
We wish all of them the very best of luck, and look forward to reading the Forward Book of Poetry 2020. Hopefully we’ll be seeing some familiar names in its pages.
