Today sees the launch of Neon‘s first ever chapbook. The Naming Of Cancer is a fourteen-poem volume by award-winning poet Tracey S Rosenberg. It begins in a hospital, and from there explores the experience of cancer from a multitude of perspectives, from the person struggling to survive the disease to the spouse pacing in the waiting room, the oncologist doubting their own ability to diagnose, and even the cancer cells themselves, mourning their host body even as they destroy it. It is a beautiful little book, and I’m very pleased to be able to publish it.
If you happen to be in Edinburgh tonight you might consider dropping by the Scottish Poetry Library, where there will be a small launch event, including a drinks, snacks and possibly a reading. If not, you can still get hold of a copy of the chapbook by ordering it from this website in either physical or digital formats.
Special thanks to everyone who has already pre-ordered a copy. They should be arriving with you soon – please do get in touch and let me know what you think! And if you’re not yet entirely convinced, why not visit the chapbook’s home page and read some samples of the excellent poetry within.
